June 14, 1927: “we shall miss them”

Tuesday 14 Cloudy an uneventful day. Just the usual routine. Amozelle + the girls are breaking up housekeeping + going to Bolton where Ernest has been for some time. We shall miss them. Especially will Audrea miss Ruth. We drove up there tonight for a short time.

Monday 13 Pleasant. Mrs Blasdale came in the p.m. bringing me a bunch of Iris + announcing her intention a staying to dinner which she did. Katherine was also here had a pleasant time as we always do when Kitty B comes

June 12, 1927: “every thing went wrong”

Sunday 12 Cloudy. They all came + every thing went wrong I never served such a dinner to the Parkers before – + I hope I never shall again. I was so nervous I could scarcely see + I thought my head would split however they all left saying that had enjoyed themselves – which was kind of them.

June 10, 1927: “almost impossible to do anything”

Friday 10 Hotter still almost impossible to do anything. I feel utterly indifferent as to wether anything is done or not Mrs Baily is coming + I dread it so much. There will be four of them but one that we wanted to see will be missing. Never again will we see her smiling face coming up the walk + go out to meet her.
