Friday 27. Cold + dull with a high wind. We hear the Baldwins are going to move the last of June. We shall miss them + I think they will miss us. We will then not have an neighbor. We have lived here thirteen years but have no neighbors. Edith went in with her cards.
NOTES + EXPLANATIONS
Oh, life is still so difficult for poor Annie. Interesting to note – 13 years they’ve been living there at this point. This means they moved there in 1914. Her husband’s death was in 1909, so I wonder if they were able to stay in the house on Walnut Street in Somerville for some years before moving, or if they jumped around a bit before settling on Appleton Street. At some point in the near future they move from this address to Plymouth Street, also in Arlington.
