March 10, 1927: “no pay for a month”

Thursday the tenth
A lovely day with the sun shining brightly Edith has gone in with her cards. Gets no pay for a month, but it will all come in a lump then. I will need it. nothing new. no one came no check. Had dinner read aloud in David C—d + went to bed.

Interesting. So we know that Edith is making a bit of money off her card readings. Perhaps the Miss Henderson, mentioned before, is her boss. I’m curious to know what Annie’s expenses are that she will need this money. Maybe Annie manages the house finances? I doubt that, though.

On this day in history:March 10, 1927 (Thursday)

Zenith Radio Corporation became the first company to obtain a license from RCA to manufacture radios, followed on May 18 by the Crosley Radio Corporation.
