February 13, 1927: “will grow like a dream”

Feb. Sunday the thirteenth
The first pleasant Sunday for ever so long the family all went down to Salem. found them ver much depressed. They are just beginning to realize what has happened to them. I will be that for a long time + gradually Mattie will grow like a dream to them. They will never forget her but they will learn to think of her without tears

NOTES + EXPLANATIONS

First of all, SO sorry I’m behind on the entries… A little scheduling mishap again. I think I’m all caught up now.

As far as this entry goes, Annie is still shaken up about the death of family friend Mattie Parker (maiden name Martha Griffiths).
