February 6, 1927: “those who are most needed”

Sun. 6th
Edith + Clarence went to Salem. Dull + threating rain. Snowed in the night + the ground is white. Audrea + I had a nice quiet day. Audrea very good + thoughtful. Folks got home about ten o’clock. Edith brought home Mrs. Parkers coat. Fred was very thoughtful to give it to her. She needed it. She took down some things in the line of food. poor Lu cant cook much. It does seem as if it was those who are most needed who are taken. Did not storm after all. found the family somewhat more cheerful. Tho’ they have been wonderful considering what a great loss they have had. Mattie was a wonderful woman
