January 26, 1927: “this old shack”

Wednesday the twenty sixth
Frightfully cold. The coldest of the winter Impossible to warm this old shack – all one can do is to burn coal + get no results. I think I feel a little better today, but had a bad night so cold I could not sleep. Emma + Ruth came in on their way from school got lunch + stayed untill it began to grow dark nearly frozen. Not half dressed poor young ones. An opening wedge. Likely the rest of the family will appear before long. A little cold night.

Notes + Explanations:

coming soon! Sorry, busy Monday at work 🙂
